How much does fertility treatment cost – and what’s the chance of success?
Fertility treatment isn’t just an emotional investment — it’s a financial one too. Knowing what to expect in terms of both cost and success rates can help you plan realistically.
We’ve created a simple tool to help you calculate costs and chances of success for different treatments. After using it, you'll know the estimated basic cost and number of attempts needed based on your expected chance of success.

What does fertility treatment cost?
Costs vary depending on your country, clinic, treatment type, and whether you're using public or private care. Additionally, medication, donor sperm, number of attempts, and supportive treatments can all affect the final amount.
Therefore it's always easiest to find the exact price of the treatment by asking your clinic or consulting their price list.
To help you get an idea of the overall basic price of a treatment course, we’ve built a cost calculator.
Our calculator gives you an estimate based on your preferred chance of success, the cost of your chosen donor straw and the treatment you choose.
Scroll down to try the calculator.
Input the cost per attempt (your clinic's price) of the treatment, and adjust the estimated chances of success per cycle only if you have been given specific numbers for your case.

Input the cost of your chosen donor straw
The minimum chance you will accept for achieving a successful pregnancy using donated sperm over multiple cycles.
Note: Our Calculator provides estimates based on the information provided and statistics about a general population. It's important to recognize that individual fertility outcomes depend on a variety of factors such as specific medical conditions, lifestyle factors, and genetics.
What’s the average chance of success?
Success rates in fertility treatment are closely tied to:
- The woman's age
- The treatment type
- The sperm straw quality (MOT)
IUI: On average, 10-20% of IUI attempts result in pregnancy. This can be lower or higher depending on what MOT is used, and on the woman's age. For example, women aged 24 or below may have up to 38% chance of conceiving per IUI attempt, and women aged 44 or above may have a success rate closer to 8%.
IVF: As a comparison to IUI rates, women who are 35 or under may have a 54% chance of success per IVF attempt, and on the other end, women of 42 years or above may have a success rate closer to 4% per attempt.
It's important to note that these are averages, and your individual chances are unique to you. The best thing you can do is talk to your treating clinic and let them guide you in choosing the right treatment course for yourself.
What affects price and success?
These factors influence the final cost and chances of success:
- Your age and fertility test results
- The type and number of treatment attempts
- Whether you require hormonal stimulation or additional testing
- The clinic and country you choose
