40-60% of personality is genetic

Considering the donor's personality is essential when choosing a sperm donor.

Around 40-60% of individual differences in personality are due to genetics, i.e. the DNA we get from our biological parents.
The rest comes from our environment and experiences – how we're raised, friend group dynamics, school, jobs and more.

Genes play a significant role in how we behave and feel

Our genes especially influence traits like openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism.

Finding a sperm donor with a good personality

At Donor Network, we only approve donors with well-balanced personalities. Our psychologist uses a questionnaire to evaluate our donors based on the Five-Factor Model which measures these "Big Five" personality traits.

Each trait is a scale with scores from low to high.

You can view the score for each donor in their profile and use this information as part of finding a donor who's the perfect match for you.
