Our impressions

Asgar’s motivation for donating comes from personal experience. Having gone through fertility treatment with his partner, he understands that journey from the inside. When he speaks about wanting to pass that help on, it feels genuine and considered. His Danish-French background also plays a meaningful role in who he is, with time spent in France shaping his appreciation for food, culture and everyday rituals.

Food and music are central to his life. Trained as a chef, he approaches cooking with both discipline and curiosity, while his long-standing passion for music, especially drumming, reflects a creative and dedicated nature. With green eyes, an olive complexion and an easy, unhurried manner, he leaves a calm and likeable impression.

What's your diet like?

Diet and nutrition interest me a lot, especially since I became a chef. We eat a healthy and varied diet, following the dietary guidelines. I'm very keen that my daughter eats well and healthily. Not fanatically, but with a special focus on organic ingredients and free-range meat.

Do you have any particular talents?

My interest in music has filled my whole life and I've been playing drums since I was 4/5 years old. This has led to a life of concerts and performances in many different genres and contexts; music school, Tivoligarden, musical foundation coursework, many different bands and traveling in that connection. Sport has always come naturally to me. As a child, I practiced many different sports and being physically active, especially ball games. Exercise and health have been a big part of my life the last few years. I run a lot and completed my first marathon in September.

What instruments do you play?

Drums. Vocals. All kinds of percussion and some guitar.

What sports do you like to participate in?

I love a lot of different sports. Especially ball games – I've always played and been good at them myself, so it was a natural fit for me. I'be also practiced gymnastics between ages 5 and 10.

What are your hobbies?

I should probably refer you to my section on music and food. That's what I spend my free time on. Both in practice and in the studio. I have read and spent a lot of time on music history. I'm always curious to know the origin of a thing, so I have spent and spend time studying music in general. I would say the same about cooking. Besides, I spend a lot of time in nature. It means a lot to me because I grew up by both beach and forest areas. Also, my grandmother had a farm where she and her husband grew vegetables. I also spend time going on outdoor trips and cooking over a campfire.

What does family mean to you?

Family means a lot to me – those who raised and cared for me, who sacrificed so much to make me who I am today. I truly appreciate that, and I want to give something back to my own children.

How would friends and family describe you?

Hopefully they recognize some of the above. They will probably say that I am loyal. Caring and helpful. Fun. Energetic. Good at creating a good atmosphere and always ready for a party. I hope I am the same in my girlfriend's eyes as she is to me.

Where is your dream travel destination?

Two places I have yet to visit are Japan and Africa and both are high on my list. The cultures and people fascinate me greatly. I have also spent a lot of time studying Japanese and North African cuisine.

What's your biggest dream or goal in life?

First and foremost, to be the best I can be for my girlfriend and my child. I would like to grow more successful in music, play more festival gigs, and eventually work less so I can spend more time with my family. I'd love to own a house with a large plot of land, surrounded by nature, and perhaps farm it. Most of all, to live well and laugh as much as possible with family and friends.

What are you most proud of?

My girlfriend, my daughter, my parents, siblings, and friends – because they have helped shape who I am today. I am also proud of the music I have recorded and released, of learning to play the drums, and of reaching a high level as a cook.

Describe some of your best experiences.

I have travelled and played concerts across Denmark, the Philippines, New York, Berlin, Latvia, and more. Being able to combine music and travel has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. In 2017, I spent a month and a half in Peru with my girlfriend, travelling the country and experiencing its people, daily life, and culture up close. We trekked to Machu Picchu via Mount Salcantay, which was an extraordinary journey. On that same trip, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting the Amazon jungle.

How would you describe your own personality?

I am a person who treats others with kindness and respect. I see humor as an important part of myself and I have always joked with myself and others to create a good atmosphere and high spirits. At the same time, I also value being serious and attentive when it counts. I'm practical and take things as they come, but I also work purposefully when something is important to me. I like structure and clarity, but I'm also flexible and adaptable to new situations. That said, I do have a temper when it comes to injustice and poor conduct. I'm not afraid to react and intervene and confront if I feel myself or others are belittled or mistreated. I am ambitious - not just for myself, but because I want to contribute meaningfully to other people's lives and to the world around me.

What was your childhood dream job?

Being a musician was my big dream. I'm living it and I'm still chasing it part-time!

What do friendships mean to you?

It means a lot and I spend a lot of time with friends that go way back. I still see my closest childhood friend and friends from elementary school and high school.

Dear future parents,
I chose to become a donor out of an altruistic desire to help others. For me, it is especially about creating meaning and joy for people who long to become parents.
My fiancé and I were helped by insemination and in 2023 we had our daughter. It has made me very aware of how invaluable that help was and how meaningful it can be to stand on the other side and pass that help on.
