Our impressions

Donor Egil is an incredibly friendly young man with a sporty appearance. He is a balanced individual who values punctuality and thoroughness in everything he does. He’s down-to-earth and pleasant to talk to, and he maintains good eye contact. He’s satisfied that he has the opportunity to pass on his genes by being a donor while also helping others fulfill their wish to become parents.
Egil is very physically active, which is clearly reflected in his body. He is muscular and well-trained, and he also prioritizes giving his body the right nutrients through a healthy diet. Egil is, in every way, a donor with many personal and physical qualities that make him well worth considering.

What's your diet like?
I eat a healthy and varied diet as I know how important it is for my well-being and energy. I exercise a lot and want to take it to the next level. This is also reflected in my diet. But that doesn’t mean that there’s no room for a trip to McD’s every now and then.

Why do you want to become a sperm donor?
I want to become a sperm donor because I see it as a way to help people who dream of having a family but cannot do it on their own. I am very grateful for the genes and qualities I have inherited and I feel that I can make a positive contribution by passing them on. It feels meaningful to be able to share something of myself and at the same time give others the opportunity to experience the joy of parenthood.
What do friendships mean to you?
Friendships mean so much to me. I value the people around me and the relationships we build over time. For me, friendships are about mutual support, honesty and being there for each other - both when life is good and when it’s hard.
I recently lost my father and during that time, having good friends around me was a huge support. So it means a lot to me.
What are your personal strengths?
Willpower and determination: I have a strong inner drive and never give up when setting goals. I am persistent and always find a way to achieve my goals, even when it requires extra effort or time.
Patience and calm under pressure: I stay calm and patient, both in everyday life and in stressful situations.
Empathy and relationship building: I have a natural ability to understand and support others, which makes me a good listener and helps build strong, trusting relationships both in my personal life and in my network.
Leadership: I have a strong leadership capacity that enables me to motivate and inspire others, while maintaining a clear overview and making decisions that drive progress and collaboration.
Do you have any specific characteristics?
I am a calm and patient person, both in everyday life and under pressure. Growing up in a stable and loving family with two sisters has given me a solid foundation and strong values. I have always found it easy to learn new things and I approach new challenges with curiosity and commitment. This has led me through both academic success and physical challenges, such as running 100 miles and other things that require a lot of willpower.
My experience in the military has further strengthened my determination and ability to lead people. I am a person who almost always finds a way to achieve my goals and if I don’t succeed right away, I work persistently to find the solution.
I love learning new things because it allows me to discover new sides of myself and become an even better version of who I am.
What instruments do you play?
I play the guitar.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
Ultra running: I love ultra running because it challenges both my endurance and will-power. Running long distances and pushing myself to the limit gives me a huge sense of fulfillment. In addition, I find it almost meditative.
CrossFit: I enjoy CrossFit because it gives me a solid physical foundation for my everyday life. It challenges my strength, endurance and technique and allows me to develop in several physical areas.
What are your hobbies?
Underwater hunting: I love being underwater and finding a peace that is hard to find elsewhere. It requires focus and patience, and I enjoy the challenge of being so close to nature. I go bow hunting because I think it’s a super exciting form of hunting. Other forms of hunting don’t appeal to me as much, as I’ve shot a lot in the armed forces, but it’s not the shooting itself that fascinates me. It’s more the experience of nature and the many hours spent planning and waiting for just the right moment before releasing the arrow.
Training: Training is a big part of my everyday life. I love the feeling of pushing myself and seeing progress, both physically and mentally. It gives me energy and clarity, and I like to challenge myself in new ways so I can keep getting stronger and better.

How would friends and family describe you?
My family and friends would probably describe me as a reliable and dedicated person who always does his best to be there for them. They see me as extremely calm and patient, both in everyday life and under pressure, and as someone who keeps a cool head when it counts.
They will also say that I am strong-willed and determined - when I set my mind to something, I find a way to achieve it. At the same time, they will probably emphasize my loving and caring side, as I value my close relationships and do a lot to protect them.
Finally, they will say that I am an honest friend and family person who is not afraid to challenge or support them so that we can grow together.
Where is your dream travel destination?
I prioritize traveling as I love experiencing new cultures and places. My partner and I have traveled all over Europe and also visited several countries in Asia, which has given us many amazing experiences. In addition, I have been deployed with the military to the Middle East, which was a completely different kind of travel, but also educational in many ways.
I dream of traveling to the US in the near future. In general, I find it exciting to travel to gain insight into how other people live and what makes their everyday life unique.
What is your best childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is of summer holidays at home, where I always played in the woods next to our house. The forest was my sanctuary - a place where I could let my imagination run wild. I remember how I could be alone for hours, have adventures and feel part of nature. It was also a place where I played with my sisters and friends and we created our own little universes where we could be anything we wanted.
What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
My goal is to join the Police Special Operations Unit or one of the elite defense units, as I am passionate about challenges and high-level work. At the same time, I dream that life will eventually take a different turn - I would like to buy a disused farmhouse and live a quiet life in the countryside with my wife and children, where there is time and space for presence and family.

Adventure Race: Winning the junior series while I was in Danish residential school school was a great experience because it required both teamwork and endurance.
Being named best conscript: Being recognized as best conscript is something I am very proud of as it shows that my hard work, commitment and dedication was noticed.
Completing Hellrun: It was an extremely physically demanding challenge and it gave a huge sense of satisfaction to finish.
Half marathon in 1:28:58. I’m proud of the training and dedication it took.
100 Mile Race: Completing a 100 mile race in less than 24 hours was one of the biggest physical and mental challenges I’ve gone through. It took everything I had in terms of willpower and it’s an achievement I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I even finished third, which is also something I’m very proud of.
What was your childhood dream job?
At first I dreamed of becoming a Special Forces Soldier, but later in my teenage years my goal was to join the Police Special Operations Unit.
What sort of friend are you?
I see myself as a good and attentive friend who is always there when it really counts. I value honesty, even when it means pushing my friends a little if I can see it helps them grow or move forward. For me, friendship is about more than just support - it’s also about inspiring each other to grow and become the best version of ourselves.
My family and friends would probably describe me as a reliable and dedicated person who always does his best to be there for them.

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because he thinks it’s for a good cause and a good way to be charitable. The donor knows a friend who is also a donor, and they’ve talked about it. He has also discussed the decision with his girlfriend, who supports him. The donor knows people who have had issues conceiving a child, and wants to help.
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed above the average for his age group on the screening test. He can be expected to be a quick learner and a person who is good at handling and understanding complexity. He can recognize patterns fast, and he is expected to be seen as a sharp and keen person more so than most.
In terms of personality, the donor is expected to be a very calm and patient individual. Others will likely describe him as someone who can keep a calm and level head in most situations, even the more stressful ones. He is expected to be in good control of his impulses and not prone to negative thoughts or worries. This can also make him tone down or ignore relevant worries that others take seriously, and he can be less receptive to feedback because of a genuine satisfaction with his persona. He’s likely to be very optimistic, happy and positive about most things in life. While important exams and moments in his life can induce some anxiety and nervous thought, he is able to push through it and do what’s needed in most cases. He’s currently studying to become a police officer and has experience being under pressure. The donor is not likely to show intense passion and great mood swings, which can be a positive thing but also somethings that others would miss to see from him sometimes.
His peers will probably describe the donor as someone who prefers close groups and intimate friendships over large gatherings and networks. He’s expected to excel mostly around close friends and small-scale events. At the same time, the donor has the capacity to show gregariousness and a very accommodating behavior toward new relations and peripheral acquaintances. Others will likely describe him as a warm and open individual who tends to trust the good intentions of others. He might be viewed as a bit naïve from time to time, where the donor prefers to give second chances and let people prove their trustworthiness rather than cutting out people in his life that might be taking advantage of him. He seems to prefer being quite active and keeping a full schedule, as he can quickly grow restless and bored. The donor can be assertive when he wants to, but he also has no problem taking a back seat, perhaps especially when dealing with a large group of people he doesn’t know very well. The donor can switch between taking risks or seeking excitement and preferring safety and comfort. He’s expected to be quite honest and easy to read without much care for manipulation, strategy or politics. The donor can be very diplomatic and selfless, and he seems to have a sympathetic side to him. The donor doesn’t seem to enjoy seeking accolades or recognition that much, which will likely make him seem modest and well-liked in the eyes of many people. He has a great curiosity and appreciation for variation in his experiences. While the donor is largely practical, he can also be a bit of a daydreamer with great fantasies and a capacity for imagining many scenarios. He is quick to find new hobbies and can grow bored of them if there’s not enough variation. He seeks intellectual stimulation and is quick to challenge his own ideas and values as well as those of others. While the donor respects other people and is usually polite and not confrontational, he can be so if there’s something personal at stake. He is not a largely emotional person or someone who puts much stock in emotions, but he can recognize the need for emotional investment in some cases.
Others will most likely describe the donor as a confident, well-liked and diplomatic person with a high drive, high standards and a bit of a perfectionist attitude. While he can switch between intuition and detail-orientation in his decision-making, the donor seems to always be critical of himself and pushes for better results all the time. He seems very disciplined and good at keeping structure and order, which can make it hard for him to work well with people that are more relaxed and less dutiful. He has a tendency to take on much responsibility and has trouble letting go of it again. At the same time, the donor’s perfectionist attitude makes him very good at keeping discipline and reaching personal goals. The donor has performed in elite sports and done ultra-running as well as intense bike races. While he’s expected to be viewed as a hard worker with a large capacity and energy to complete many tasks, it might be important for him to also be aware of his own limits and recognize when he’s reached them. It is more likely, however, that the donor will exceed his own limits before he acknowledges them, due to the responsibility and pressure he puts on himself. He can be a demanding but kind co-worker or manager.
