Our impressions

Ferdinand’s motivation comes from a deeply personal place – watching a close family member go through fertility treatment and witnessing how much it meant to them to finally have a child. That experience stayed with him, and it is clear he genuinely cares about making a difference.

When you first meet him, he comes across as composed, sharp, and quietly confident. He is reliable and steady and is the kind of person friends and family turn to when they need help. There is a natural trustworthiness to him that is hard to miss.

What stands out most is his curiosity and drive. He has always pushed himself – from chess tournaments and math competitions as a kid to building a career in high-stakes energy trading. Tall and slim with blonde hair and blue eyes, he carries himself with an easy, unassuming confidence.

What's your diet like?
I often start the day with a smoothie or oatmeal. For lunch it's either something hot at work or a rye bread sandwich. For dinner, I like to make something good myself; it could be a pasta dish, Caesar salad, a tortilla or a simmered dish, for example.

Do you have any particular talents?
I'm good at solving problems, don't give up easily and I'm rarely short of ideas. I also have a natural ability to read people, and can usually tell when something is bothering a friend or family member.
What instruments do you play?
I don't play any instruments.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
Besides football, I have also played handball and chess, and taken up swimming. Handball and swimming were typically my winter activities when the outdoor football season came to an end. I have always enjoyed watching football too, something that goes back to my childhood. I played football from 3rd to 9th grade.
What are your hobbies?
I care about society and the world around me. I used to be involved in youth politics, and while I'm no longer active, I still follow it closely. I read a lot and enjoy both fiction and non-fiction. Some of my favorite books are East of Paradise, Game of Thrones and Flowers for Algernon. I also enjoy playing board games and competition in general. As a child I played chess and competed in tournaments. These days, in my spare time I do fitness and running.

Questions

What does family mean to you?
How would friends and family describe you?
They would probably describe me as fun, happy to debate, enterprising, thoughtful. Someone they can trust, and someone who shows up when they need help. It could be help with a move, or help with a particularly difficult math exam.
Where is your dream travel destination?
Right now my plan is to travel to Japan this summer, but it's a dream/plan that goes back several years. I feel Japan and East Asia in general is very different from Denmark, not in a bad or better way, just very different, so I want to experience that.

What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
One goal is to have a family - a wife and children - and to share good moments together with them. Another goal is to have a fulfilling career doing something exciting, and I feel my current job is just that.
What are you most proud of?
Some of my favourite childhood memories are winning at sports and seeing my parents beam with joy and pride. As an adult, I am most proud of having taken initiative and achieved the job and position I wanted. I'm also proud that my friends or family know that they can ask me for help and I actually help.
Describe some of your best experiences.
Describe some of your best experiences.
There are both big and small experiences that stand out: as a child, being picked up from kindergarten by my grandmother and spending the afternoon playing cards or board games together at her place. Going fishing with my uncle for the first time. Playing a great game of football with my dad watching from the sidelines. Winning my first chess tournament and celebrating as a family at the local pizzeria. Being six years old and visiting Kronborg, wandering around the castle in awe. My first trip away with my then-boyfriend after finishing high school. And visiting Disneyland with my family as a child.
How would you describe your own personality?
I am a curious person - deeply so. I'm curious about the world, about other people and I love learning new things. My parents and family often tell stories about how I was always pestering them with questions as a child. That curiosity has stayed with me as an adult and is reflected in the fact that I read a lot, have been active in youth politics, read newspapers and love visiting new countries. Among my friends, I'm the one people can rely on. I look out for those around me, whether that means keeping an eye on a friend who's had one too many on a night out, or taking the initiative to organise a dinner or a board game evening. At the moment, my work takes up a lot of my time. I've always been hard-working and conscientious, and right now I'm putting that energy into work. Whether it was school or university, I have always been someone who puts real effort into whatever I'm doing. I have a strong sense of justice and I have a hard time seeing others or myself being treated unfairly. I'm the type of person who challenges authority and I've never been afraid to speak my mind. I'm a competitive person and have always enjoyed playing competitive sports or entering competitions in chess, math, physics or trivia.
What was your childhood dream job?
I wanted to be a physicist, but then I later learned that many physicists spend part of their time teaching, and I don't want to teach.
What do friendships mean to you?
I have two close friends and a few others I'm friendly with, but not as close to. For me, friendship can take different forms. It can be the kind where you share everything with each other, and the kind where you meet up every now and then for dinner or a night out.
A loving family is a fundamental support system that is characterized by unconditional love, shared memories and lasting bonds that offer security through life's ups and downs.

Handwriting

Handwritten text
Hello there "those in need of a donor", as the company so unpoetically puts it. I can't choose for you, but I can write a little about who I am and my motivation, and then share some childhood stories. I have thought about becoming a donor for several years, but it was an experience with an uncle and an aunt who had a child through a fertility clinic that made me take the initiative. I could see how much it meant to them to be able to have a child, especially after they had almost given up hope. Personally, I love children and I am happy every time a new child joins the family. I'm also the one in the family who likes to take the initiative to do a game or activity with the small children for a birthday. As a child, I had many ideas about the world, and some of them didn't hold up to reality or other views of it. One day after kindergarten, I proudly told my parents that I had won in kindergarten. What had I won at? Well, I had managed to sing all the songs faster than the other kids in the room, I had actually sung a song in under 10 seconds. Apparently, singing wasn't about being the fastest...

Psychologist opinion

Evaluation
The donor has considered donating for a long time. He made the decision to donate after hearing about family members that needed help with conception. He wants to be helpful to other people.

Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed well above the average for his age group on the screening test. The donor is expected to be very adept at analyzing complexity and learning new things, and he will be quick to pick up patterns, more so than most others. He is probably quick to understand contexts.

Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor can be largely said to be very calm under pressure. He’s not expected to have large mood swings or tendencies to be visibly frustrated or emotional. He is at heart a very rational and logical person with a tendency to disregard emotions often. The donor is expected not to worry much, and he is comfortable with taking risks, but he doesn’t do so without knowing what the consequences of failing might be. He is good at keeping a level head, even though he can be easily frustrated or impatient. He has a tendency to keep these emotions on the inside and not show them outwardly. The donor seems to be comfortable with his own persona and is not necessarily as worried as others about what others think of him. He will rarely experience negative emotions, but he is not a blind optimist either, keeping himself very grounded and realistic in his outlook on life. Others will likely see him as someone who enjoys spending time with others, but mostly family and close friends. He can be a bit cold and reserved towards people he doesn’t know very well. He is likely to want to stay active and have a lot going on in his life, but sometimes he will also want to focus on one thing at a time. He likes taking risks at work to feel adrenaline and feel alive, but he is not reckless or thoughtless in the risks he takes. The donor is expected to be very assertive and dominant, often wanting his opinion to shine through and wanting influence in the social groups he is in. He seems to like having control and even being in the spotlight at times, which can make others who are less assertive fall in the background. He is expected to be helpful and caring towards family mostly, and also friends, but there is a clear tendency for the donor to focus on himself and his own needs. Others might see him as strategic in his approach to relations with others, and he can be self-centered and focused on receiving recognition for his own achievements. The donor might be viewed as cynical, confrontational and calculated, which is good for standing up for oneself and making it in cutthroat business for example, but he might find it hard to establish good relations with others, especially if they don’t agree with him. He can be critical of authority and likely has a “no nonsense”-approach to teamwork and his professional life. The donor does believe in and trust others initially though, but others must be careful not to break this trust, or it will be hard to regain.

Values and interests:
The donor seems to be very keen on learning and is curious in many areas of life. While he might be good at “reading a room” and social dynamics, it’s not likely that he’s interested in paying attention to, or acting on his own emotions or those of others. He is expected to enjoy variability, academic inquiry, pondering big questions, and philosophizing. Others will likely see him as a person with an opinion on most things in the world, and he seems open to changing his mind, if the arguments are good. He probably has a good imagination and an appreciation for beauty and arts, but he is also a strictly rational person. His interests might change often, as many things in life might attract his attention, and he is expected to require different kinds of stimulation to not grow restless or bored.

Work moral and self-perception:
The donor is likely to feel very competent and confident, and others will probably see him as someone who believes he can handle most things on his own. He seems to have high expectations and is ambitious, but he can be very selective about what responsibilities he chooses to take on or live up to. He’s not necessarily committed to doing his best or doing right by others in every aspect of life, which makes him good at focusing on what he’s passionate about. He can be chaotic and flexible, which makes him good at working without strict planning, but sometimes he can come across as a bit messy in his approaches.

IQ Test Summary
There is no support for any downside to higher cognitive ability and no evidence for a threshold beyond which greater scores cease to be beneficial. Thus, greater cognitive ability is generally advantageous and virtually never detrimental.
The most important single heritable trait that explains socioeconomic success is the general mental ability as measured by a good IQ test. It is typically more important than any other single heritable trait.
