Our impressions
Hakon's decision to donate was sparked by a close friend who was searching for a donor and felt the options were limited. Wanting to make a real difference, he stepped forward, and that desire to help others runs through everything he does. He is the kind of man who shows up, whether that means organizing a family gathering for 60 people or being the first to offer a helping hand when someone needs it. Friends and family are not just important to him – they are everything.
What makes Hakon stand out is his genuine zest for life. He has lived in the Philippines, dived with whale sharks, and traveled across Asia, yet his heart always pulls him back to the people he loves. He is fun, warm, effortlessly social, and the kind of person who lights up a room without even trying.
I'm that friend you can call at 3am and say you're up to your neck in shit and I'll be at your side 15 minutes later, no matter how many red lights you have to run to get there.

What's your diet like?
My diet is very important to me. I eat healthy and varied, and I don't like my meals to just rotate between the same 10 dishes. So I have a 100-day meal plan where every day is something different, but some ingredients are reused across meals, keeping it healthy, easy, and affordable.
I'm very nimble-fingered, so short tricks, magic tricks, and balance come very easily to me.
What instruments do you play?
Can play the piano, but only a few songs.
Hobbies and interests
What sports do you like to participate in?
I go for long walks and do some morning exercises in the living room, just to keep the body moving. I've also done taekwondo and gymnastics.
What are your hobbies?
My hobby is flying drones. I love going out to some really beautiful places to take great pictures. As often as possible, I like to go on some quick vacations where I drive out to places I learned about and would like to have pictures of. In addition, my interests include board games and socializing with family and friends.
Questions
What does family mean to you?
My family means a lot to me, it makes me happy to be with my family and remembering my elders is something I value a lot, as they should not
feel forgotten. We have food day every other Wednesday where I cook and my cousin and I and my two children go down to my grandmother and spend time with her.
How would friends and family describe you?
My friends and family would describe me as the guy who is always around and the guy whose door is always open. They describe me as the guy who can organize a confirmation for 60 people people, cooking the food, decorating and making sure everything works. But at the same time, as the one who sits and enjoys their company. They'll say I'm fun and caring and a real goofball.
Where is your dream travel destination?
I have been to Austria many times and love the country. I love how they have all four seasons, and when a season arrives, it really arrives. I love the nature and all the beautiful landscapes. The people you meet are often very open and welcoming. I have lived in the Philippines for 7 years and have traveled all over Asia. But my go-to has always been and will always be Austria.
It is and always will be to have my own place. I've just always had things that have gotten in the way. I've always made sure to get an education or a job that I'll later be able to use towards my dream. My goal in life is that when my youngest daughter turns 18 and is ready to stand on her own two feet, I will sell everything here in Denmark, travel the world, and find the place where I want to have my own little corner.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of myself. For the past 5 years I've pretty much been a single dad to one of my girls, and have a shared 50/50 custody with the other. I've really done everything I could to make sure they were happy and had a good upbringing. When friends and acquaintances tell you they think you're a good father and that you're doing a good job, it makes you a little proud to know you've been able to achieve that.
Describe some of your best experiences.
Describe some of your best experiences.
My favourite experiences and the memories I made with friends and family. Whether it's a long weekend with my one daughters in London and Paris or riding around Europe on a moped. The 6 years in Asia have been a great experience too. Everything from diving with whale sharks to watching the rice terraces.
How would you describe your own personality?
I am a person who wants to experience a little more than just the ordinary Danish life. I love to experience the world, I love to get out and see what other places are like. I'm not the type to go on a beach vacation. I'm the type to jump in the car and just drive out there to see where you end up and whoever you meet on your way. I'm also a workhorse – I really like to work and like to be the guy who always jumps in when needed. At home, in private, I am 100% a dad. I give my kids my full attention and don't just sit with my phone in my hand. I love to entertain my two children with everything from games, to trips to the woods, to sitting and being the test cloth for their make up or nail trials.
What was your childhood dream job?
I've always dreamed of having my own place. A small hotel where you could give people the best experience.
What do friendships mean to you?
Friendship means everything to me, I value having good and real friends around me. I have a group of 6 friends where we always see each other once a week, cook good food, play games and just have fun.
My goal in life is when my youngest daughter turns 18, that she is ready to stand on her own two feet.

Evaluation
The donor chose to donate because of a friend who had a child of her own. He had talked to her about the possibility of becoming a donor and then read about it. He has children of his own and can see the value that donation brings to others. The donor also doesn't mind the financial compensation that comes with donation.
Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed within the average for his age group on the screening test. He can be said to understand and analyze complexity reasonably well, on par with most others. He will be quick to learn some things, others less so.
Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor can generally be said to be a very calm and collected person. Most other people will not see him as a temperamental person, but rather one who remains calm even under pressure. He is likely to be quite comfortable with his own persona and not willing to change much to fit into other people's lives. He is likely to be good at handling a lot of pressure and stress compared to other people. The donor is not the worrying type and it will usually take a lot to incur frustrations. He will rarely experience negative emotions or depressed states of mind compared to other people and he seems to have good control over some of his impulses, although he usually bases decisions on intuition and gut feeling. The Donor is likely to downplay the problems and concerns of others and is expected to be more reactive than proactive in the face of potential negative consequences. Socially, he is expected to be energetic, approachable and good at taking the limelight. Others are likely to see him as someone who likes to take responsibility and initiative. Among friends and colleagues, he is usually the one who makes suggestions and plans and takes the lead in executing those plans. He also says about himself that he can sometimes take up more space than necessary. He prefers a full schedule and calendar and can get restless quickly. The donor seems to enjoy excitement and adrenaline and has done several things that would make others stop, such as bungee jumping and the like. He intends to try skydiving in the future. To others, he will seem like a very optimistic person with every expectation that things will work out for the better in the end. The donor works in sales, which seems to align with his own preferences. He has an ability to be strategic, competitive and focused on personal gain. The donor can be helpful to others, but he seems to take care of his own needs first. He may be skeptical about letting others into his private and personal life, but when he doesn't, he is extremely loyal. The Donor can be critical and confrontational and question authority. He is not a very sympathetic person and is not inclined to carry the burdens of others on his shoulders.
Values and interests:
The Donor seems to highly value rationality and practicality. He can be creative at times, but this is not his most prominent trait. He can recognize the feelings of others and himself, but he will rarely consider them important or worth appeasing. He is not particularly interested in art or traditional cultural activities. Overall, he is a predominantly concrete thinker with little interest in academic or big, abstract thoughts. He seems more concerned with the world and the problems he faces compared to larger, philosophical discussions. Others will see him as a principled man who can be a little stubborn at times. Although he is tolerant of other worldviews and points of view, he is more inclined to stand his ground and not change his own perception of the world very often. He seems to enjoy variety and needs to be stimulated by having weeks and days that are different from each other.
Work ethic and self-perception:
In terms of work ethic, the donor is very much a person of ambition and discipline. Others will see him as someone who usually sets a high bar for success and someone who can set personal goals and achieve them without much difficulty or deviation from the plan. He seems flexible to the need for structure and can adapt to changing circumstances. He is very orderly and structured at home, less so at work. The donor also seems selective about which responsibilities he accepts and fulfills and which he is more relaxed about. He seems very aware that he's not the best at everything, which gives him a certain caution about taking on tasks that are beyond his expertise, but he may also miss out on certain opportunities. He is not very data-driven in his reflection and decision-making, but rather focuses on personal experience and what has worked before. Sometimes this leads to hasty or overly detailed decisions, but he is rarely the last to act.
Having a normal IQ means the donor has the reasoning and problem solving skills of a normal person. In the case of our donors we use the people on the job market in Denmark to define a normal person.
