What's your diet like?
I like Mediterranean, Balkan and East Asian cuisine and I try to eat different things that I like from these cuisines. I grew up with a lot of meals that consisted of beans, lentils, peas, chicken, pork, beef, potatoes, rice, pasta, green salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, different kinds of cheese and fish. It also included fruits like apples, bananas, strawberries, raspberries and plums, so naturally these are the foods I eat the most in my adult life.
I try to eat different types of food, but my diet is not strict. I don't watch the calories and nutritional values of each meal; I just eat a normal amount of the food I like.
I'm not that obsessed with a healthy diet, but I try to be mindful and avoid eating too much sugar and fried meals.
In general, I prefer tasty homemade food in moderation.

Why do you want to become a sperm donor?
For me, becoming a sperm donor is a great way to make a real difference in someone's life. Helping people who dream of having children is a meaningful thing and I would be happy if I could contribute to something bigger than myself and to something that lasts. I would be happy to give someone the chance to experience love and connection through parenthood.
I appreciate that the process includes health screening and genetic testing as I see it as a way to learn more about myself while doing something good for others.
The financial compensation is also useful to me, but it's not the main reason why I donate. I believe in helping people create families, no matter how they are formed.
To the parents-to-be, I wish you all the love, wonder and joy that family life can bring and a happiness that lasts a lifetime.
What are your personal strengths?
I'm a fast learner and I'm good at adapting to a new environment. I have a talent for thinking outside the box. I'm cheerful by nature and I like to joke around. When I don't take life too seriously, it sometimes helps me to positively influence my friends and family.
I am thoughtful and considerate of others.
I am organized and always do things on time.
I can focus for a long time, which helps me academically or when I read for pleasure. I am good at working both alone and with others.
I am good at listening to what others have to say and value their perspectives.
I believe in lifelong learning.
What do friendships mean to you?
Friendships are very important to me. Friends make life more enjoyable because we can share experiences, have fun together and learn from each other. Friendships give you a sense of belonging and it gives you a place where you can express yourself freely without being judged. It's also more fun to experience everyday life with someone else, to have common topics to discuss or just to share things you care about.
All in all, friendships make life richer, happier and more meaningful.
Do you have any specific characteristics?
I don't consider myself special. But some of my character traits help me get through life on good terms with many different kinds of people. I would say that my intellectual curiosity and openness is why I can connect with people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
Throughout my schooling and into adulthood, I have been relatively good both academically and in sports. Among the subjects I am good at and interested in are history, philosophy, literature, psychology, geography, social sciences and to a lesser extent languages, math and astronomy. I like to watch documentaries about the origin of the universe and life on earth, about dinosaurs and all kinds of animals.
Sports that I am relatively good at are (were) football, table tennis and go-karting.
Other things that characterize me are: I am interested in politics and geopolitics; I like photography on an amateur level; I read many books; I can be creative in certain situations; my friends consider me to be a good friend who they can talk to about any topic.
What instruments do you play?
I don't play musical instruments.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
When I was a kid, I liked soccer and I was good at it. I liked it because it was the most popular sport in my area and all my friends played it.
I like table tennis and I still play it for fun in my adult life.
I like to watch motorsports and car racing, so I enjoy driving go-karts from time to time.
What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading books and I think it comes from my natural curiosity about the world. When I come across a topic that interests me, I feel motivated to explore it further and reading is the easiest way for me to learn.
When studying a new language, reading in the target language is usually my main practice method. It helps me learn new vocabulary, understand the cultural context and improve my understanding in a more natural way.
I also love going for long walks. Sometimes I walk through the city to observe people and architecture, while other times I prefer the tranquility of a park or a nature trail. Walking helps me to relax and recharge.
In my free time, I like to watch educational videos or documentaries because they allow me to learn in a more visual way. I also like to listen to podcasts on topics that interest me.

Questions

How would you describe your mother?
My mother is generally a good and caring person. She is a working class woman and has worked hard all her life. She is a person who loves freedom and doesn't like harsh discipline, so that's also why she was liberal in my upbringing during my childhood years. Although she doesn't have a good formal education, she is smart and she knows how to handle difficult situations. She has a natural talent for reading people and she is very sensitive to other people's behavior in the sense that she can tell when someone is trying to do her harm or good.
How would you describe your father?
My father is a very smart and logical person. His general knowledge is vast and broad. At the same time, he is cheerful and likes to have fun, even in his older days. He is very consistent, he started working when he was young and he has been doing the same all his life. Like my mom and me, he loves personal freedom and he also respects the freedom of others. He is disciplined and is never late for anything. He is very outgoing and easy to talk to, and people usually like him.
What does family mean to you?
My parents divorced when I was one year old. Luckily for me, they had a good relationship with each other, so it didn't affect me that much. I mostly lived with my mom, grandma and grandpa, so we lived together as a family. On the other hand, I visited my dad and my other grandparents and my cousins, so I had a good bond with everyone. So even though I didn't have my mom and dad together all the time, I didn't feel bad about it. The two sides of the family took care of me and I'm grateful for how it all worked out.
Family is important to me because we can help and support each other in difficult times and share the good moments together. I'm glad that I also have a good relationship with my extended family - uncle, aunt and cousins.

How would friends and family describe you?
Since my self-perception is partly shaped by what my family members say about me, I think they would describe me in a way that is very similar to how I describe myself.
They would probably say that I am curious, reflective and easy to get along with. I enjoy learning and exploring new ideas and I like to connect with people from different walks of life. Friends often say that I'm a good listener, thoughtful and someone they can talk to about anything. I'm calm by nature, I'm patient and I try to approach things in a fair way and with an open mind. I think they also notice my sense of humor and my passion for the things I care about.
Where is your dream travel destination?
My favorite country to visit is Japan. I like the culture, the food and the way they do things. I see it as a mix of tradition, modernity and natural beauty. As a history lover, I want to explore their rich history and visit some of their ancient cities. Japan has one of the world's greatest culinary traditions, so I want to try as much of their food as I can.
For the same reason, I want to visit South Korea, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
East Asia is my favorite region to explore.
Other places I would like to visit are Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Oman because of their thousand-year history, interesting cultures and food.
I would like to travel on the Trans-Siberian Railway in Russia, which is the world's longest railway system with a distance of over 9000 kilometers, because it sounds like a great adventure.
I would also like to visit Australia and New Zealand because of their natural beauty.
Being from a European country, I would also like to visit as many countries as possible in Europe.
What's your favourite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is playing outside with my friends all day. It's actually the best part of my childhood because we could spend all day together during summer vacation and half the day during the school year. We rode bikes, played football, climbed all the trees in our neighborhood and often ate cherries or plums directly from the trees.
Another great childhood memory is when we celebrated Christmas at my grandparents' house, where they created a traditional atmosphere with traditional food and there was a feeling that something special was happening. Those days felt comfortable and warm as it was cold outside, but we had great meals together inside with all the extra preparations going on.
What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
Currently, my goal in life is to finish my "teacher training" and become a primary school teacher.
I just want to improve myself and become a better teacher and a better person.
I also want to learn more foreign languages.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud that despite the difficulties, I immigrated and settled in a new country (Denmark). I had to leave familiar places, people and routines. Everything felt different; the language, the culture and even simple daily tasks. There were moments when I felt unsure or overwhelmed, but I persevered and learned to adapt and handle life in a new country.
I'm proud that I didn't give up, even though it was hard. I found work, made connections and slowly started to feel at home. But what makes me even more proud is that I continued to grow after I settled in. I've made an effort to study, learn new things and improve myself.
What was your childhood dream job?
At different times in my childhood, I dreamed of becoming a Formula 1 driver, politician, archaeologist or history teacher.
What sort of friend are you?
It's hard to answer, because it can best be answered by my friends, as they have an outside perspective.
But I can say what kind of friend I try to be. Despite my introverted nature, I try to spend some of my free time with my close friends. I try to help when needed. I try to be thoughtful and considerate towards them. I like to joke around with them and luckily we have the same sense of humor.
I like to have fun with my friends, but also to help each other when needed.
Family is important to me because we can help and support each other in difficult times and share the good moments together.

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because he thinks it's a good way to help other people and he enjoys making a difference. He also doesn't mind the financial compensation that comes with the donation as he is currently studying to become a teacher. He was also happy to receive a comprehensive medical check-up during the screening process.

Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed above average for the general population in the screening test. He can be said to analyze complexity faster than most other people and solve problems in an efficient manner. He will be quick to learn most things in life where others may take a little longer.

Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor's behavior is largely defined by the contexts in which he is placed, as is the case with most other people. The donor is unlikely to be temperamental or pessimistic in his approach to life, but he may still be overwhelmed by sadness or anger, as most people are, when the situation demands it or triggers it. Generally, the donor is not worried, but he may become anxious when something important to him is at stake or when there is great uncertainty. Most of the time he feels good about himself, but in some cases, such as new social interactions, he may be more self-conscious and inclined to step back or be sensitive to changes in social dynamics so as not to appear "off" or make a fool of himself.

He is unlikely to have major mood swings and remains fairly level-headed most of the time. He can get uncomfortable when he is treated unfairly, as was sometimes the case with his previous job in retail where people would occasionally shout at him for no reason. This kind of behavior can frustrate him, but he's also quick to forget about it afterwards.

The donor sees himself as very introverted, but he enjoys spending time with other people, especially if he knows them well. He's not much for parties and big social gatherings, and he has no problem being alone for a whole week, for example. He can switch between being assertive and less assertive and only takes initiative and leadership if no one else does. He is likely to be on good terms with most other people and will appear accommodating and diplomatic to others. He is not a particularly confrontational person and will not pursue a topic or discussion if people disagree unless it is a topic where he feels it is important to express his opinion.

He seems to focus on his loved ones and will be selfless and helpful to them, but not so much to strangers. He is more emotionally detached from other people and tends to see the world in a predominantly logical and rational framework, rather than an emotional one. He may seek excitement at times and is generally optimistic, but he's not a daredevil or a big risk-taker as such.

Values and interests:
The Donor has a high degree of intellectual curiosity and likes to learn a lot of new things, which is perhaps why he wants to be a teacher. He is expected to enjoy being academic and thinking about big problems and questions. He studied history in his home country before traveling to Denmark to study. He seems to have a great interest in documentaries and he has a wide range of interests. He seems like an open and tolerant person who is more interested in exploring other people's traditions, values and ideas than asserting his own. The Donor can sometimes find it harder than others to take a stand because he can see the positive and negative in many perspectives. The donor doesn't seem to have any particular hobbies, but he likes to learn about animals, nature and so on. The donor finds it nice to go for a bike ride from time to time to stay active.

Work ethic and self-image:
The donor seems to put in effort in areas where he has some passion. He's not so dedicated that he gives 100% in everything he does, but he is tidy, organized and punctual when it comes to work. At home, he may be a little less concerned with how messy his home is, but he seems to care about the impression he leaves in a professional context. He's not fussy, but tries to be precise in his work. Like most people, he will be more ambitious in some areas than others and knows how to relax and enjoy life instead of being a perfectionist and competitive all the time. He has some belief in his abilities and skills, but he can also recognize areas where he is not necessarily the ideal person for the job. As such, his confidence is well balanced, neither insecure nor overconfident.
