What's your diet like?
My diet is very varied. I like to eat a lot of different things, so I often look at what I can find on offer and then I make up dishes based on what I find. But diet is quite important to me, I practice competitive Judo and want to get in even better shape. I’m also a good cook, so sometimes I take the time to make something really good from scratch. For example, I can make Ramen soup from scratch with homemade noodles.

Do you have any specific characteristics?
One of the things that is special about me and characterizes me is that I am incredibly curious and love knowledge, both to gain more of it, but also to teach others about things I find exciting.
What I always say is that I’m a proud nerd. Geek is seen as a bad word, but I see it as having something that you find cool and want to learn more about and share that knowledge. I’ve always sought out all the knowledge I can on as many topics as I can. So friends and family have always seen me as someone who has a lot of knowledge about many things
What instruments do you play?
I play some bass and drums, and I was a singer in a band in my middle and high school days.
Why do you want to become a sperm donor?
My absolute main reason for wanting to be a donor is to help people who might be in an unfortunate situation. If I can help someone by doing something that is so simple for me, then I can’t ask for more.
What do friendships mean to you?
To me, a good friendship means that you might not talk every day, you might even go a month without talking. But the day you need to, you know that your friend is there for you. It also means that even if you disagree or argue about something, you know you’re still friends afterwards. Luckily, we are not all the same, but we can choose to accept each other for who we are.
What are your personal strengths?
I would say my greatest personal strengths are that I am incredibly patient and practically never get angry. On the other hand, I keep my cool, even in pressured or stressful situations.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
I like a few different sports. I do judo myself. I also swim a couple times a week and am a former competitive swimmer. I’m also a sea kayaking and climbing instructor. I also have a diving license.
What are your hobbies?
I have to admit that I have a few too many hobbies. I play computer, board games, photography, drawing and animation, reading, sea kayaking, fishing, good cooking, judo, art, history, and I could go on. However, one thing is that I also love learning about specific biology and general science. I’m a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist myself and find all kinds of science exciting. I would also like to expand on that with history. I love all history, but especially ancient history. I considered becoming an archaeologist and I spend my summer vacations volunteering at a Viking center as a hobby.

Questions

How would you describe your mother?
In many ways, my mother is very much like me. Or more precisely, I guess I’m a lot like her. My mother is the most empathetic and least judgmental person I know. She would drop everything to help those she loves in any way she can. She’s also very artistic and creative, but she’s also very academic. She always got high grades and has great knowledge in many subjects. My mother loves nature. She does a lot to preserve nature and loves being in nature. She was the one who showed me how to fish. When she was younger, she was also a very good athlete. She did almost every sport, but she was at international level in the hammer throw.
How would you describe your father?
My father is a bit more old-fashioned and traditional in many ways. In many ways he is what you think of as a man. He has calluses on his hands and is good at all kinds of crafts - a real jack-of-all-trades. He’s not always good at expressing his feelings, but if you know him, you know he’ll go to great lengths to help those close to him. He also enjoys being out in the fresh air. He really enjoys going for walks and cycling. In his youth, he was also a very big athlete until he tore both cruciate ligaments in one knee, which limited him a bit.
What does family mean to you?
For me, family means a lot the same as friends. They are someone I might not talk to every day, but if I need them, I know 100% that they are there for me. I know that I can go to them with any problems completely without prejudice.

How would friends and family describe you?
As mentioned earlier, my friends and family will usually describe me as the friendly, calm, and reliable one. I am often called a “people pleaser” as I can sometimes forget myself a bit because I try to do something for others and I forget to do what is best for myself.
Where is your dream travel destination?
My biggest dream is probably to visit Japan. I find almost everything about the whole country exciting. They have a rich history and culture that is still very evident in modern Japan, even in the big cities.
There are also many, many opportunities to take some incredibly beautiful photos of both city and nature. And it would also be a great opportunity to develop my knowledge of the Japanese language.
What is your best childhood memory?
That’s a very difficult question. I think in general I would say that it has been a family trip to a traditional Danish flea market. My family went to the market every year for many years. There are generally just all kinds of fun and good memories, from playing dangerously in the pool with my “stupid uncle” (said with deepest love for him) to sitting and enjoying a fireworks show with pizza on the beach on the last night.
What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
As it stands now, I would say that the biggest thing I can dream/ask for in life is to live a life where I am happy and content. If I can look back with a smile and say that I’ve lived a life I don’t regret, then I couldn’t be happier.
But a more specific thing, which is very much a dream, is that I hope I can get into cancer research. So I guess you could say I dream of finding a way to eliminate cancer from the world.
What are you most proud of?
I think what I’m most proud of is that if you ask my friends or family, they’ll say that I’m one of the friendliest and most willing to help people they know. And that I’m someone they can come to and talk about anything without fear of being judged.
A small example is that I have a friend who wanted to change gender. He came to me before his family to tell me, and he said that he knew there would be no prejudice and that I would still see him as the same person.
What was your childhood dream job?
It’s probably a very classic thing as a kid, but for a long time I dreamed of being a fireman. Then when I got just a little bit older, I dreamed of being a veterinarian for a very long time, as I now and always have loved animals of all kinds.
What sort of friend are you?
I would say that I’m the friend who is there for you however I can. Whether that means we sit down and play a game or watch a movie without a single thought. Or whether it means we sit down face to face and have a deep chat. Most importantly, I’m a friend you can trust. I don’t lie and I keep your secrets.
For me, family means a lot the same as friends. They are someone I might not talk to every day, but if I need them, I know 100% that they are there for me.

My hope is that I can be just a little help to you, and if I can, I’m sure you’ll be amazing parents!
But beware, with my height, beard and hobby, I’m almost a Viking, so you might get a little Viking too (meant in good humor).
Wishing you all the best!

Psychologist opinion

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because of a wish to help others. He finds it is something that requires relatively low effort from his side and has a huge impact on the life of others.
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed just above the average for his age group on the intelligence screening test. He can be said to be a quick learner and good at analyzing patterns and complexity.
In terms of personality, the donor is largely calm and not prone to overthinking or being anxious. The donor rarely worries, unless it’s something that most others wouldn’t ignore. Even then, others would rarely know it, because he doesn’t show much of his concerns outwardly. He doesn’t seem to have much of a temper, and it will take a lot to anger him. He will be viewed by others as very patient, sometimes almost emotionally unavailable, due to a very low intensity in his feelings. At the same time, this makes the donor very good at handling pressure and critical situations. He can have a tendency to downplay relevant concerns or be more reactive than proactive in circumstances where risks might be involved. The donor can also have a tendency to prefer to downplay emotions or not put much stock in them. Instead, he seems to prefer reason, logic and being rational most of the time. The donor can have negative thoughts and be pessimistic like most other people, but he will largely be seen as cheerful and a positive person. He’s not blindly optimistic or ignorant of the reality of situations, but he seems to have a fundamental belief that things are going to work out in the end. The donor has a very good control of his impulses, maybe also a little too much, where he might not set boundaries for himself or might appear too controlled and impassionate. The donor will likely be viewed as accommodating and a warm personality when he’s with others, but he will also need time to himself, as social interaction can be taxing for him, especially if it’s new relations. He is expected to prefer having a few close friends rather than being part of larger social networks. He’s not prone to being overly active and having something going on at all times. He can have bursts of very busy weeks but will also need to have more quiet weeks following those. He will likely prefer to focus on one thing at a time, and others will probably see him as more present and attentive rather than energetic and distracted. He does enjoy it when life has excitement, though, and will likely seek to do things with a bit of risk involved. The donor is a climbing instructor, and he has bungee-jumped and tried skydiving before.
The donor can switch between being an influential and dominant social figure and being a more laid-back person who prefers the background. It will depend on the situation. The donor has a personal preference for being in the background but will step up if others need help with something, or when a leader seems to be struggling.
The donor appreciates aesthetics and can be moved by art or beauty in many forms. He will have a slight preference towards beauty rather than practical application, and he is expected to be very academically minded and one that enjoys intellectual stimulation. Others have told him not to always play “devil’s advocate”, as the role comes to him naturally and he likes to challenge ideas. The donor seems quite curious and creative. He will enjoy seeing many different worldviews, opinions and traditions with an open mind and not being judgmental about them. This can also make him quite mutable, and it will be hard for others to identify his actual principles and positions from time to time. The donor is very diplomatic, trusting and honest, sometimes to a degree that’s not in his own best interest. He can be described as a bit of a “people-pleaser”, which is not always to his own benefit. The donor can be described as sympathetic and has a tendency to carry the burdens of others. The donor can be seen by some as a bit naïve and shy of confrontations, which can make him a target for being taken advantage of without marking his boundaries. The donor seems to be quite modest and doesn’t promote himself in a big way, which will make him fall behind others that highlight their accomplishments and achievements. However, the donor will probably be liked by many others, due to his non-antagonistic attitudes.
The donor has a fundamental sense of competency about him, but he seems to prefer being ambitious about things that he is passionate about. He will be like most other people in that discipline comes easier when you’re personally motivated. He will find it harder to succeed and be diligent with less desirable tasks. At the same time, the donor is neither lax nor hedonistic in his approach to life. He will be dutiful towards others when he feels a strong responsibility. The donor has helped a friend with graphical design for a charity streaming event, where he spent much of his free time focusing on making the designs perfect, because he knew it was important to his friend, and because other people would be watching. In some areas of life, he prefers being tidy and neat and structured, and at other times he can live with a bit of chaos or untidiness.
