Our impressions

This donor's motivation for donating is deeply personal. His cousin is donor-conceived, and knowing the joy she has brought to his family inspired him to give others that same opportunity. Family is clearly at the core of who he is. He speaks warmly about his parents and siblings, and some of his most treasured memories revolve around simple, joyful moments together. His Jamaican and Danish roots have shaped a rich sense of identity, and he holds his relationships with family and friends alike as a true reflection of his values.

In person, Hermann comes across as confident, energetic, and socially magnetic, the kind of person who naturally takes up space in a room without trying too hard. What makes him stand out is an interesting mix: a high IQ paired with a genuine passion for soccer, an Olympic sprinter in his family tree, a sharp interest in current events and politics, and life goals centered not on personal success alone, but on creating the best possible conditions for the people he loves. He's the type who leads by example rather than by rulebook, and his positive outlook on life is something people around him clearly feel.

Do you have any particular talents?
I'm extremely fast, thanks to the genes of a former Olympic champion. I’m relatively quick-witted, with an IQ of 140+. I gain muscle and lose weight very easily thanks to my fast metabolism. What instruments do you play?
I don't play any instruments, but I can rap a little.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
I love soccer. I’ve been playing since I was 5 years old. I love both the tactical and technical aspects of the game, and the fact that you can see
just how much hard work goes into a soccer player when you watch them play. I’ve played soccer, done gymnastics, swum, and worked out.
What are your hobbies?
I'm interested in social events where you can meet new people. I'm also interested in my workouts. In general, I'm interested in anything that I feel can help my personal development or enrich my life.

Where is your dream travel destination?
I'd really love to go to South America. I plan to live there for a few years and immerse myself in the culture of the different countries. Plus, it's really close to Jamaica, which is a huge part of who I am, and a place where I'd also like to spend some more time.

What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
My biggest dream is to achieve financial freedom so that I can provide my future children, my wife, and my current circle of friends with the best possible conditions for them to live a great life, and so that I, too, can live my life to the fullest.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the friends I have, because I think they reflect my principles and values and the things I hold dear. I am proud that I have been able to prioritize those things and that I have been able to recognize them in others.
Describe some of your best experiences.
One of my best memories is of me, my mom, my dad, my little brother, and my little sister. The sun is shining, we’re grilling food, and we’re having a great time. Then my little brother pushes me and my little sister into the pool, and the whole family is laughing so hard we can barely breathe. In general, some of my best memories are from the summer. We had much fun and laughed until we couldn't catch our breath.

My motivation for becoming a donor is a little corny, since I want to help people bring new life into the world, just as was done for my cousin. I love life and everything it entails – the love you receive from others and the experiences you have, and I want to help others experience those things too.

Psychologist opinion

Evaluation
The donor initially chose to donate for financial reasons, but later reflected on the fact that his cousin is a donor-conceived child, and he realized that it would be good to give others the opportunity to have children. He is currently in high school and has no children.

Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor scored well above average for his age group on the screening test. He can be described as very good at handling complexity, analyzing complex problems, and quickly learning new things.

Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor comes across as a confident, energetic, and emotionally stable person. He does not seem easily worried, discouraged, or overwhelmed, and others are likely to perceive him as someone who can keep his composure when things get demanding. He seems to have a strong sense of his own abilities and is probably not particularly hesitant to show what he can do. This can give him a confident and ambitious presence, although some may also perceive him as someone who doesn’t always feel the need to be particularly humble. The donor is expected to come across as outgoing, active, and socially visible. He likely enjoys being around people and being part of environments characterized by activity, competition, and intensity. He plays soccer several times a week, does strength training, and seems to thrive in environments where he can channel his energy and test his limits. He is likely comfortable taking up space socially and can naturally move toward influence or leadership when the situation allows. Others may see him as lively, competitive, and direct, with a knack for engaging with groups and making his presence known. At the same time, he may not always be the gentlest or most accommodating person in his interactions with others. He is likely to be helpful when it makes sense to him, but he can also be selective about when he invests in other people’s needs. He is not expected to be oversensitive or emotionally reactive, and this can make him resilient and straightforward. However, it can also mean that others sometimes perceive him as a bit harsh, self-centered, or less attuned to the emotional atmosphere around him.

Values and Interests:
The donor seems to have a very strong intellectual curiosity, especially when it comes to ideas, society, and world events. He reads the news and is politically engaged and well-informed, though not in the sense that he actively campaigns for a cause or participates in organized politics. Rather, he seems to enjoy understanding current events, forming opinions, and staying up to date. He will likely enjoy discussions where he can think critically, exchange views, and explore how the world works. His imagination and emotional sensitivity do not seem to be his most defining qualities. He may be less drawn to fantasy, artistic expression, or abstract emotional exploration for its own sake. He may therefore come across as someone who is mentally engaged and has strong opinions, but who is also quite grounded in what feels relevant, concrete, or useful. Activity and achievement seem central to his interests. Soccer appears to be an important part of his life, both socially and personally, and he seems to enjoy the discipline and competition that come with it. Academically, he seems less focused on competing directly with others and more concerned with measuring himself against his own past achievements. This gives the impression of a person who values progress, while also having a strong need for independence and personal guidance.

Work Ethic and Self-Perception:
When it comes to work ethic, the donor seems to be driven more by personal ambition and self-development than by rules, structure, or duty. He is likely to believe in his own abilities and may tackle challenges with confidence. When something matters to him, he is likely to work hard and push himself to improve, as seen in both his soccer and strength training. He may have a strong inner drive to improve and prove to himself that he can reach the level he’s aiming for.

At the same time, he may not be naturally very organized or motivated by external expectations. He’s probably not the kind of person who automatically follows rules or commitments just because they exist. He may need to see the purpose in what he’s doing before he commits fully, and he may be less patient with tasks that feel routine, imposed, or uninteresting. Others may therefore perceive him as capable and ambitious, but also somewhat independent and selective about where he focuses his efforts. He takes time with friends seriously and won’t cancel plans with them for trivial reasons. He doesn’t seem easily shaken by setbacks, and he’s good at moving forward rather than dwelling on mistakes. This can be a clear strength in competitive environments where self-confidence and resilience matter. However, his strong self-confidence can also mean that he sometimes underestimates the value of listening attentively to others, adapting to expectations, or considering how his behavior affects the people around him. His primary strengths are likely his resilience, energy, competitiveness, and belief in his own abilities. His main challenges may be that he can be somewhat self-directed, less emotionally attuned, and less motivated by structure or duty when the task does not feel personally meaningful.

IQ Test Summary
An IQ of 140 means that, if the Donor is in a room with 100 people he is most likely the most intelligent person in the room. There is no support for any downside to higher cognitive ability and no evidence for a threshold beyond which greater scores cease to be beneficial. Thus, greater cognitive ability is generally advantageous—and virtually never detrimental.
The most important single heritable trait that explains socioeconomic success is the general mental ability as measured by a good IQ test like the one Donor-Network uses. It is typically more important than any other single heritable trait.
