Our impressions
This donor strikes us as a genuinely warm and grounded individual whose motivation for donating is quite straightforward. He wants to help others experience the joy of having a family and children, something he holds deeply important in his own life. Family and friendship are clearly at the core of who he is. Morten speaks about both with real depth and loyalty, whether describing decades-long friendships, travelling Europe with his father as a child, or going out of his way to adopt and rehabilitate a frightened stray dog from Bulgaria.
What makes him particularly interesting is the range he brings to life. Morten is a refrigeration technician who plays chess online, paints Warhammer miniatures, is passionate about soccer and padel, and has travelled extensively. His friends describe him as a rare kind of person – someone you can fully relax around, who dives into things wholeheartedly and without pretense. He comes across in person exactly as they describe: calm, curious, and quietly confident, with no need to be the loudest in the room.
Friends are the family you choose for yourself, and that’s why I’ll do anything for them.

What's your diet like?
I eat both meat and vegetables, but mostly vegetables, so I’d describe it as a healthy and nutritious diet. Diet is important to me. I’d rather eat something wholesome and know what I’m putting in my mouth than take the easy way out.
I'm really good with my hands and I'm a quick learner.
What instruments do you play?
None
Hobbies and interests
What sports do you like to participate in?
I play soccer and padel. I’ve always loved soccer, ever since I was very little, when I used to play it all day long. I also went to the stadium to watch the team I root for play. I’ve even coached a boys’ team myself. Padel is a fun sport to get together over and has helped me build some great friendships.
What are your hobbies?
Padel is one of them. I also play chess online to keep my mind sharp, and it’s fun to play with people from all over the world. I also have a bit of a geeky side. I play Warhammer 40k and paint miniatures. Besides that, I train my dog and go for walks with my dog, Alma.
Questions
What does family mean to you?
My family means everything to me. I would do anything for them, and I often do. Family is important to me.
How would friends and family describe you?
"He is one of the best friends I’ve ever had. Even during times when we don’t see each other or talk much, he’s the kind of friend who will always be considered a close and dear friend. He’s one of the few people I can genuinely feel at ease around and just completely relaxwith. A safe haven."
"He is a geek in the best way possible. He has many interests and isn’t afraid to dive into all sorts of things - from experiences, sports, and hobbies to education, and relationships with people and animals. He’s not superficial in any way, and even if an interest doesn’t last, it’s not because he didn’t try to give it a real chance."
"Ever since I got to know him, before we were teenagers, he’s always been up for anything, as long as it was well-intentioned, fun, and playful. Never anything malicious or anything that would harm other people or animals. In his adult life, he’s still curious and adventurous, but in a more mature and thoughtful way, and not as impulsive or short-sighted as we perhaps once were."
Where is your dream travel destination?
Vietnam, where I’ve backpacked across the country and experienced both the culture and the legacy of the Vietnam War. Or living in a cabin in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.
To live a life that I can look back on with pride and joy when I grow old and perhaps end up in a nursing home.
What are you most proud of?
There are two things I’m really proud to have experienced and done. One is being the best man at my friend’s wedding. It really meant a lot to me that he chose me, and it still does today, even after more than 30 years of friendship.
The other is when I adopted a stray dog from Bulgaria that was scared and frightened. I gave it love and patience, and today it has become the world’s biggest cuddle bug and is brimming with confidence.
Describe some of your best experiences.
It must have been back when I used to travel all over Europe every summer with my dad in his truck. I got to see most of Europe, spent a lot of time with him, and had some deep conversations. And standing next to the truck, cooking on a gas burner. I also spent my summer breaks from elementary school with my friends down at the soccer field from morning till night, and we were only interrupted when we had to go home to eat.
Describe some of your best experiences.
How would you describe your own personality?
I am often described as a kind and calm person who is very friendly, positive, and cheerful.
What was your childhood dream job?
Aircraft Mechanic – I’ve always wanted to work with my hands, partly because of all the stories I heard as a child from a close family friend.
What do friendships mean to you?
It means everything to me. Friends are the family you choose for yourself, and that’s why I’ll do anything for them. My friends are always there for me, through thick and thin.
Family is where life begins and love never ends.

Handwritten text
My reason for becoming a donor is that I want to help others who dream of having a family with one or more children but cannot have children of their own to make their dream come true. I really love children, even though I don’t have any of my own. I’m very active in my daily life and enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors or playing some kind of sport. For some reason, being active helps me relax.

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate simply because he or she wants to help other people. He or she does not have children of his or her own but wants to help others have that opportunity, whether they are couples or prospective single parents.
Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed above average on the screening test. He or she can be described as a quick learner and skilled at analyzing most forms of complexity. He or she is likely to be regarded as a person with strong cognitive abilities.
Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor can largely be described as a calm and composed person with little tendency to worry compared to others. Others will likely view him or her as someone with a very even temperament. He or she is not expected to be irritable or easily agitated. The donor is likely to be very good at handling stressful situations while keeping a cool head. Although he or she may experience emotions more intensely than most other people, it is unlikely that he or she will be affected by negative emotions very often. To others, he or she will appear very capable of handling pressure without breaking down or needing a break. He seems to have reasonable control over his own impulses and does not seem overly concerned with what others think of his behavior. Although he seems interested in getting along with others, he isn’t necessarily concerned about being embarrassing or being remembered for some kind of social awkwardness. He seems comfortable with his own persona. The donor will likely be very welcoming and open-hearted toward people when he meets them for the first time. At the same time, the donor can be described as an introvert in the sense that he seems to prefer close, intimate groups of friends over large gatherings and parties. Meeting new people can be more draining than energizing for him, and he’ll need time to himself to recharge. The donor is not expected to be a boastful, socially dominant, or abrasive figure, but rather someone who is more comfortable staying in the background and letting others take the lead. The donor can be a leader if necessary, but that is not his preference. He comes across as very optimistic and positive. Others are unlikely to see him as a daredevil or a big risk-taker, though this may happen occasionally. For the most part, the donor seems to enjoy taking things one step at a time and not rushing.
Values and Interests:
Overall, the donor can be described as an emotionally and intellectually curious person. He will appear knowledgeable about many topics in the eyes of others, and it is likely that he has an academic bent. The Donor will likely often seek out new knowledge and enjoy having deep conversations from time to time. He may be imaginative and creative in some ways, but that is not his most defining trait. Sometimes he’ll crave variety and shaking things up, but like most other people, he’ll also enjoy certain routines and stability in life. The donor has some hobbies on the geekier side, such as role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer. His favorite genre of books to read is fantasy, so his imaginative side is stimulated in that regard. He seems to value kindness and humility quite highly—or at least, these are qualities he is likely to display himself. It’s expected that others will have to highlight his achievements for him to receive recognition. He’ll likely come across as a very pleasant person who doesn’t want to disrupt the status quo or seek out confrontations. He is likely to be honest and trusting toward others, perhaps sometimes to a fault. He has a sympathetic and caring mindset. Others will most likely describe him as very diplomatic and helpful, but he does not sacrifice his own needs to help others.
Work Ethic and Self-Perception:
In terms of work ethic, the donor is likely to come across as confident and competent in his field. He may alternate between being organized and less structured, but at work he values structure, preparation, and predictability. He keeps his workspace tidy and sets high standards for his work. The donor comes across as a conscientious person who wants to meet deadlines and takes commitments quite seriously. He wants to perform as well as possible in most aspects of work and life in general, which can make him seem a bit of a perfectionist. He is very disciplined, especially when it comes to achieving his personal goals.
The donor likely sees himself as a go-getter who takes pride in living up to the expectations placed on him, and he may even set the bar a little higher for himself than others do. He is expected to be a balanced person when it comes to decision-making—sometimes quick to act and other times more deliberate, perhaps especially when the decisions have major consequences.
An IQ of 140 means that, if the Donor is in a room with 100 people he is most likely the most intelligent person in the room. There is no support for any downside to higher cognitive ability and no evidence for a threshold beyond which greater scores cease to be beneficial. Thus, greater cognitive ability is generally advantageous—and virtually never detrimental.
The most important single heritable trait that explains socioeconomic success is the general mental ability as measured by a good IQ test like the one Donor-Network uses. It is typically more important than any other single heritable trait.
