Why do you want to become a sperm donor?
I want to be a donor, because we have a couple of friends who have been in the phase where they couldn’t have children. Now I’m in the phase of becoming a father myself, and I would be sad if others didn’t get to experience the energy and joy that my girlfriend and I have had - especially those who really want a child.
What do friendships mean to you?
Friendships mean a lot to me - not to say that they mean almost everything. It also ties in with what I've written before: I have a lot of people in my life that I care about, and I love being able to reach out to them and do things together. Community, closeness and good experiences with others is something I value very highly.
What are your personal strengths?
My personal strengths lie mainly in my ability to build relationships and be present when meeting others. I’m a good listener and people often feel safe and seen in my company. I have a positive energy and thrive in social communities where I can contribute with commitment, humor and presence.
I am also conscientious and responsible. When I say yes to something, I do it wholeheartedly. I like to have an overview and structure, and although I can sometimes be a bit stubborn, that’s also what keeps me going when things get challenging.
I’m good at collaborating, but I also don’t mind taking control if necessary - as long as it benefits the community and the task.
Do you have any specific characteristics?
One of the things that characterizes me is my ability to meet people with openness and curiosity. I’m a very social person and get energized by being with others. I’m also very conscientious and although I sometimes toss too many balls in the air, it’s often because I find it hard to say no - precisely because I want to contribute and be part of the community. I strive to be the best version of myself - not perfect, but honest, committed and present.
What instruments do you play?
I play guitar.

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
I love football and spend a lot of time on it. In general, I’m a big fan of all sports, but football is probably my biggest love.
What are your hobbies?
As I mentioned earlier, I love sports - but I also really like building and creating things. I’ve renovated an apartment and am working on a house now. I enjoy using my hands and body and it gives me great satisfaction to see the results of what I’m working on.

Questions

How would you describe your mother?
My mother is an incredibly warm and caring person. She is the type of person who always puts others before herself and has a very special ability to create a sense of calm and security around her. She listens, supports and is there - even when you don’t know you need it.
She is strong, hardworking and always stands by her values. She also has a sense of humor and a twinkle in her eye that makes her easy to be around. She has taught me a lot about taking responsibility, being decent to others and never forgetting how important it is to show love in everyday life.
How would you describe your father?
My father is a strong and stable person who you can always count on. He is hardworking, solution-oriented and has a big heart - even if he doesn’t always show it in words. He’s the type of person who likes to lend a hand without making a big deal out of it, and he has taught me the value of taking responsibility and standing up for yourself. He has a calm and natural authority that makes me feel safe, and he has always backed me up in what I want to do - with support as well as honest advice. He also has a good sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye that makes you feel comfortable in his company.

How would friends and family describe you?
My family and friends would probably describe me as a fun-loving and energetic person who is easy to get along with. They see me as someone who spreads good vibes, takes initiative and is always ready to have fun. I’m loyal, attentive and a good listener - and they know they can always count on me for support in difficult times or a spontaneous trip to the summer house.
They would probably also say that I’m a bit stubborn and strong-willed, but in that way where it’s about taking responsibility and sticking to what I believe in.
Where is your dream travel destination?
Thailand is a place I really dream of visiting - mainly because I’ve never been there before. I love warmth, sun and beaches, and Thailand seems like the perfect place for that. The combination of beautiful beaches, lush nature and a slow pace really appeals to me.
I also love good food, something I’m really looking forward to experiencing. For me, a trip to Thailand would be a great opportunity for relaxation, experiences and new flavors.
What's your favourite childhood memory?
One of the best parts of my childhood was playing football in our parents’ garden and then coming in for dinner and watching football on TV together. I also loved when we would go on trips - both family trips and football trips with the school in the younger grades. Those experiences have given me many great memories and a strong sense of community and joy.
What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
I dream of becoming self-employed and owning my own place - a place where I can create the framework for good experiences for customers and guests. It could be a café, an event venue, a bed & breakfast or something completely different - as long as it’s about building something from scratch and giving people a sense of well-being, presence and quality.
I love the idea of being able to combine the practical with the human - using my hands to create something physical and being in contact with people. Being able to give others a good experience that they remember and return to is something that motivates me enormously.
What are you most proud of?
I have actually achieved a lot over the years, both professionally and personally. My CV is a testament to my broad experience and strong work commitment. I was previously self-employed, which has given me a solid understanding of responsibility, structure and building something from scratch.
Through my work, I have achieved several personal milestones that I am proud of, including receiving several awards and recognitions for my leadership and strong sales performance. Making a difference means a lot to me, and I always approach my work with ambition and a will to create great results - both for the company and those around me.
What was your childhood dream job?
I just wanted to be a football player.
What sort of friend are you?
I think I’m the friend that people love to hang out with. I’m always up for anything - even the craziest ideas - and my friends can always count on me. There’s rarely an idea that’s too crazy that they can’t convince me. I love being part of the community and creating great experiences with the people I care about.
One of the things that characterizes me is my ability to meet people with openness and curiosity. I’m a very social person and get energized by being with others.

Handwriting

Handwritten text
Dear parents-to-be,
I want to start by saying that I have great respect for the choice you are facing. Bringing a child into the world with love and hope is something very special, and I am touched that I might be able to be a part of that journey.
I chose to become a donor because I want to make a difference for someone who really wants a child. I have people close to me who have struggled with fertility and it touches me deeply. I think everyone who dreams of becoming parents should have that opportunity. Right now, I’m expecting a little boy myself and I can’t wait to become a father. It also makes me think about how great it is to be able to give life.
I have always taken care of myself and my body. I live healthy, am active and thrive both physically and mentally. I grew up in a good and safe environment and have had a life with many opportunities. I want to pass that on - also through my choice as a donor.
As a person, I would say that I am stable, positive and social. I like communities, being in motion and creating good experiences with others. I hope that you get to experience all the beauty that comes with a child.
Best wishes and warm thoughts!

Psychologist opinion

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because he knows friends that have had fertility issues. They’ve talked about it before, and one day the donor’s girlfriend showed him an ad that made him apply. He believes he has good genes and that he takes care of himself, so it would be nice to pass that on.

Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed within the average for his age group on the intelligence screening test. He can be said to be like most other people in terms of logical reasoning, sometimes being very adept at recognizing patterns and analyzing complexity, and sometimes less so. The donor is expected to be a quick learner in some respects and have more difficulty in other areas.

Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor will likely be viewed by others as very calm, collected and emotionally stable. He is not likely to be an overthinker or neurotic about anything that often, and the donor seems to have a low temperament and much patience. He is likely to be comfortable with himself and not focus on negative aspects or what could go wrong.

He’s not expected to monitor his own behavior too much or worry about being embarrassed, which can also make him less prone than others to seek feedback. There is a risk that he is more reactive than proactive compared to most others. This can make him good at handling pressure and not being overly sensitive to adversity, but he can also be affected by some problems that could’ve been avoided by a bit more foresight.

The donor’s main characteristic and most apparent feature is his social engagement and extraversion. He’s likely to be viewed by others as very gregarious, open and approachable. Others will likely see him as the light of the party and someone who likes to take the spotlight, especially in terms of work. The donor has been a part of an independent startup, and he’s worked as a project manager within the IT business. He’s been in the media business as well, and there are clear indications that he wants to influence decisions and be one of the people that set the strategic vision. He likes to be in charge and has many things going on at once.

The donor seems to appreciate being stimulated and keeping a busy calendar. Others will see him as someone who prefers being with others and who can quickly grow restless. He’s run a marathon and done an iron-man. The donor also takes risks sometimes and likes living life a little more on the wild side than other people. He enjoys (in a responsible way) making more risky stock market investments than others. He likes to focus on the positives and the upsides to most situations.

The donor seems to be mostly practical, logical and rational in his approach to the world. Others will likely not see him as the most creative or imaginative person, but he’s good at being grounded and a problem-solver. The donor doesn’t put as much stock in emotional states as others do, which can make him less prone to involve emotional considerations to certain situations. When someone wants him to listen while they’re ventilating, for example, he can be quick to offer solutions instead.

The donor has the ability to be vulnerable and open about his feelings to those that know him well, which makes him show some emotional range compared to more stoic people. He enjoys variation in his life and prefers it when things are being shaken up rather than staying the same. He can be curious about the values, traditions and opinions of others and use that to inform his own worldview, making him more mutable than most in that area. In this way, it can sometimes be hard to identify what his position is on some topics.

Values and interests:
The donor is largely trusting of others and sometimes give people more chances than others think they deserve. This can make the donor seem like someone who’s being taken advantage of sometimes, but he also wants to believe in the good in others. He’s likely to be a bit strategic and political about his communication with others to serve his agendas and needs, which can be helpful in a management position. He will probably seem like a person who can balance personal needs with being someone who can still help others and be self-sacrificing. It will be context-dependent what he decides from situation to situation, but people will in general probably see him as diplomatic and agreeable.

Work moral and self perception:
In terms of work ethic, the donor seems very disciplined, structured, ambitious and competitive. The donor sets a high standard for himself and others, and he is very good at keeping to a plan, which can also make it harder for him to adjust to changing circumstances than it can be for others. He is expected to be dutiful, responsible and hard-working, which can also make it hard for him to say no to projects and tasks, and it can be hard for him to let go of responsibilities. There is a risk that he overworks himself, but he also seems to have good resources to handle a high workload.
