Our impressions
Poul came to us motivated by a genuine desire to help others. Having experienced firsthand how meaningful it is to have children of his own, he wants to give that same opportunity to families who are struggling. He is a warm, grounded family man who describes his children as his greatest pride, and his close friends and family would describe him as sweet, loyal, funny and dependable – someone who always shows up and puts others first.
Poul has an impressive and varied background. He served in the Royal Life Guard during conscription and played football at elite level, reflecting real discipline and competitive drive. He has a natural ease in social situations, a calm positive outlook, and an entrepreneurial streak alongside a love of travel. He comes across as a confident, down-to-earth person who is very comfortable in his own skin.
Football. It's a team sport that requires cooperation. I have played at elite level myself. Also strength training and badminton.
What are your hobbies?
I'm interested in sports in general. Mostly soccer and handball. I am also a small entrepreneur so I am interested in product development and sales. I like to watch documentaries.
Questions
What does family mean to you?
My family is everything. My children are the most important thing to me and I will sacrifice everything to create the best possible life for them....
How would friends and family describe you?
They would say I'm sweet, loving, funny and sociable. That I can be counted on. That I am a good person and a good father. That I always put my children first, without exception. At least that's how they see me...
Where is your dream travel destination?
Spain. My favorite city is Barcelona. I love Majorca and the Canary Islands. I've also visited the United States a few times, and it probably won't be the last time either.
To be a good father to my children. To be the one they can always count on.
What are you most proud of?
My children are my greatest pride, without comparison. They fill me with pride and joy every single day. They are a reflection of who I am, and watching them grow and develop makes me incredibly proud.
Describe some of your best experiences.
The births of my children. The vacations and experiences with my children. All the football trips when I was a kid. All the vacations with my partner and family. I love traveling and do it at least 3 times a year. All the trips to the stadium to watch Brøndby or Barcelona with my son. My son's goalkeeper training where I can see him improve week after week.
Describe some of your best experiences.
How would you describe your own personality?
I am a happy and positive person. I love animals and have always had pets. I am a family person and I prioritize time with my children above all else. I know who I am and am comfortable in my own skin.
What was your childhood dream job?
I dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player.
What do friendships mean to you?
Friendships mean a lot, but family means more. The children mean EVERYTHING to me. I have 5-6 really close friends, and many acquaintances who mean less...
A father's role is not to create the path for his children but to walk beside them until they find their own.

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because of a desire to help others. The donor has known friends who have had problems with conception and he wants to help such families. He has two children of his own. The donor also thinks it's nice to get some kind of compensation for his efforts, but that's not the main reason for donating.
Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence, the donor has performed within the average for his age group on the screening test. He can be expected to analyze complexity and learn new things at the level of most other people. Some things he will be quick to learn, other things less so.
Personality:
In terms of personality, the donor seems quite social and outgoing. He is characterized by a decent degree of sociability and is expected to prefer the company of others to being alone. He can take responsibility and seek influence in groups if he wants to, but he probably won't grab the limelight every time. The donor is likely to be good at making new friends and being sociable. He seems to be someone who likes to be active, but he's not the type to fill up his calendar and he only sees friends on weekends. During the week, he doesn't mind not doing much and most activities during the week are initiated by his children. However, he can get restless quickly compared to others at work and is unlikely to sit still for long periods of time. Overall, he can be described as a very calm and emotionally almost impervious person. He can be content, happy and optimistic, but he's not likely to show big emotional outbursts or a dynamic side. Some people might miss a little fiery passion from him from time to time, but he's more likely to always keep a calm and thoughtful head. He's not the type to worry or get overwhelmed by sadness or pessimism. On the contrary, he is good at moving on and calming worries and problems, which makes him good at dealing with adversity, but perhaps also at trivializing relevant concerns. He is probably comfortable with himself and doesn't want to change too much for the sake of other people. He is likely to be good at controlling immediate desires and impulses, and others would probably describe him as someone without much of a temper. He seems quite trusting of others, which some may abuse a little at times. He also has a very strong sympathetic side where others' situations can weigh on his mind. It can be difficult for him to make unpopular decisions or to be cold-blooded even when it's necessary to succeed. Although he has a high degree of sympathy, it can be more context-dependent when he actually spends time helping others, and although he is expected to be diplomatic and accommodating most of the time, the donor can also be critical of authority and confrontational if he finds it particularly important. Sometimes he may want to take credit for his work; other times he will be perfectly fine with not seeking credit or the limelight. He is likely to be honest and without hidden agendas most of the time, but in some cases he may see the value in being strategic, political and a bit manipulative to achieve personal goals.
Values and interests:
When it comes to interests, the donor doesn't seem to be the most creative or imaginative person. He seems much more focused on the concrete world in front of him. Art and cultural activities don't speak to him in the same way that they might to most people, and he seems to be a practical man through and through. He is more interested in things being functional than pretty. Others will probably see him as a strictly logical and rational person without much concern for philosophical thought and grand academic visions. He likes variety in his life and doesn't want to live by too many routines, but there is also a prominent down-to-earth side to him that doesn't show as much curiosity as other people. He likes to travel and see new places, but his hobbies and daily activities have remained the same for 25 years. To others, he will probably seem like a person with clear principles and opinions in most areas where he can be more open and tolerant of others. He is open to most people, but he cares most about his close relatives and family.
Work ethic and self-image:
In terms of work ethic, the donor seems like a reasonably confident person with discipline and an analytical approach. For some people, he may seem a little slow to act at times, preferring to have good evidence and data to act on rather than gut feeling or instinct. He can keep a structure, be accountable and keep promises most of the time. He has played elite sports earlier in life, which also shows a very competitive side to him. In some contexts, like most people, he will be less enthusiastic and hardworking, but you can expect him to be ambitious about the things that interest him most. Others can count on him as a colleague and he can navigate changing circumstances flexibly, although there may be times when chaos is unacceptable or too much for him.
Having a normal IQ means the donor has the reasoning and problem solving skills of a normal person. In the case of our donors we use the people on the job market in Denmark to define a normal person.
