Our impressions

Ingolf’s motivation for donating is honest and refreshingly self-aware. He deeply values family and donating is his way of ensuring that part of him lives on should life not unfold exactly as he hopes.

He is energetic yet grounded, the kind of person who connects quickly by listening well and reading people naturally. There is a warmth to him, paired with a directness that makes him easy to trust.

What stands out is how intentional he is. From his carefully considered diet and disciplined training to solo travel through remote corners of China and a focus on smart investing, everything he does feels purposeful. He has made it his goal to visit every continent before settling down. With only South America and Antarctica remaining, he is nearly there.

Athletic and well-built, with light brown hair and blue eyes, he carries himself with the quiet confidence of someone who knows exactly who he is.

What's your diet like?
Yes. I try to avoid processed foods and things with preservatives, which means no seed oils, and no plastic used in any way, but especially not for cooking, microwaving, etc... not even Teflon pans to avoid forever chemicals and keep my testosterone naturally high. I prefer to cook everything in an iron or stainless steel skillet. Drink out of a glass and glass bottle. High animal protein diet — red meat, fatty fish, cheese, yogurt, eggs, and honey. I don't eat leafy greens (antinutrients). When it comes to vegetables, I mostly eat the “fruit of plants,” like tomatoes and cucumbers, and avoid root vegetables. The only exception is beetroot, which I often eat raw because it’s healthy. I eat fruits of all varieties, but it's a small part of my diet. I try to be as good as possible at soaking nonorganic produce in a baking soda solution to remove pesticides. I eat a good amount of carbs because of my active lifestyle — I prefer white sourdough bread because it's quick and easy.

Do you have any particular talents?
I think I'm more athletic than most people.
What instruments do you play?
Nothing well

Hobbies and interests

What sports do you like to participate in?
Now mostly lifting weights to get high muscle mass. I used to do a fighting sport similar to MMA for 7 years, I really enjoyed that. Otherwise I played football for 4
years and basketball for 2. I really enjoy any kind of sport and competition. Shortly played tennis recreationally.
What are your hobbies?
My main interest is trading the stock market and investing my money. Outside that, I like clothes and fashion so I mostly buy secondhand clothes. That way, when I get bored of them I can get the same amount of money back and it's somewhat better for the environment.

Questions

What does family mean to you?
How would friends and family describe you?
Logical and rational, speaking my mind, sometimes too firm on my opinions. Strong, determined, helpful, and funny. I have been very competitive with my brother growing up because he's only 1,5 years older, so there was a lot of physicalities, childhood testosterone and rivalry but now we are both much calmer and only try to help each other.
Where is your dream travel destination?
I traveled to many places; I haven't been to the South American continent or Antarctica, so I would go with South America first. Otherwise a small, interesting island called Socotra because it has a lot of endemic plants and it's lesser known.

What's your biggest dream or goal in life?
A happy family.
What are you most proud of?
I'm very proud of my family. They were very good parents and always put my brother and me first in everything they did. I'm always very thankful for my parents when I hear about other people's parents and their childhood.
Describe some of your best experiences.
Describe some of your best experiences.
Recently I found a great deal of interest in travelling alone and exploring things. For example, in China, I went to some very interesting regions and made good friends with local and other international people. I learned a lot about their culture and did things that maybe few other travelers did.
How would you describe your own personality?
Hardworking and sensible, but sometimes too many things interest me, or I try to do too many things at the same time and lose focus on things that I'm not interested in but I have to do.
What was your childhood dream job?
Many things, but first maybe a carpenter.
What do friendships mean to you?
Good fun without being too serious, laughs, trust, loyalty, and sometimes considering someone before yourself.
Being a family means you are a part of something very wonderful. It means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life.

Handwriting

Handwritten text
I want to become a donor because I understand how important it's to have a happy family in life.
I can't think of any fun fact about me but I find a great deal of fun in traveling and it would be nice to claim that I have visited all of the continents in the world before I'm settling down. I only have South America and Antarctica left so this challenge doesn't seem too unattainable, although Antarctica is quite a difficult one. I'm a very active person, also as a child I couldn't stop moving and I'd love to visit a place where I could learn to get good at surfing. I tried it a few times and it's a lot of fun to do with friends. Otherwise, I haven't tried skiing yet and Switzerland would be a beautiful place for that, plus getting on their Glacier Express.

Psychologist opinion

Evaluation
The donor has chosen to donate because he is 29 and wants to make sure that his genes are passed on in some way, in case he doesn’t start a family himself. He’s determined to try, but is also aware that it might not happen for him. At the same time, the donor wants to help other people, and this is one way to be a big help for a little effort. Finally, the financial incentive is nice for him, as he is a student.

Intelligence:
In terms of intelligence the donor has performed above the average for his age group on the screening test. He can be expected to analyse complexity and understand problems quicker than most other people. He’s likely to be a fast learner.

Personality:
In general, the donor can be said to be much like the average person in the sense that context will often dictate what kind of behaviour, others are likely to see from him. The donor has a mix between being a calm personality, but also someone who can worry and show a temper from time to time. He’s usually level-headed and good at handling most situations without stressing, but sometimes he might be impulsive and a bit anxious. The donor can have negative thoughts like most other people, but he’s not likely to be plagued by them for long. In new situations with new people, he can be self-conscious and wish not to appear awkward or embarrassing. But mostly he will seem pretty comfortable with himself and his personality. The donor might be a bit more optimistic and positive than most others, at least outwardly, and he will have a tendency to find the positives in troubled situations. The donor seems to be fond of excitement and perhaps even risks, and he might downplay some risks to engage in behaviours that raise adrenaline. The donor likes to challenge himself. Once, he tried to beat the record for most double-shifts in a row at his job (as a cook at a café), which drained him but was fun to try out his limits. He’s likely to be pretty outgoing and social, and he seems to enjoy having lots to do and with friends. The donor can take charge and seek influence if he wishes, but other times he might be fine with taking a back seat and letting others take the initiative. He will usually seem friendly and accommodating to other people, even a bit political and strategic at times. The donor can be more focused than others on gaining something from his relationships and furthering his own agenda. He can be a bit manipulative at times, but not in an inappropriate manner. The donor seems to switch between wanting routines and wanting variation. He might have a great need to innovate at work and experience new things, whereas his personal life might be safer and more predictable. Others might see him as someone who can be both creative and grounded, logical and sometimes emotional. In this way, it’s not easy to make a clear description of the donor and his personal tendencies in many cases, as they’re more than likely to change according to situations, seasons and circumstances.

Values and interests:
Overall, the donor can switch between looking out for his own interests and helping others. While he will probably feel some obligation to be helpful towards others, it is not always that he will prefer this over his own accomplishments. It will usually be context-dependent when he values solidarity versus self-interest. The donor seems in some cases principled, traditional and steadfast, and in other areas, he can be more tolerant and open-minded. The donor might be a bit more academically and creatively inclined than some, and he’s probably interested in some larger discussions and dialogues about complex issues. While he might not be a complete philosopher with his head in the clouds, there seems to be some part of him that enjoys seeking knowledge and spending time focused on abstract problems from many perspectives. He likes to travel and go to many different countries and has done so. His studies are focused on the financial world in Asia, with a special focus on China. He likes a good mix of experiencing the culture and being in big cities, but also difficult hikes and the like.

Work moral and self-perception:
In terms of work ethic, the donor is like most people in that some things are important, others less so. He can feel confident at times and insecure at others. The donor will probably in general feel pretty capable, but in some new and unexplored situations, he might defer to others for expertise. In some cases, he will be structured, plan and be tidy, and in other cases he might be flexible and a bit chaotic. The donor is neither overly perfectionistic nor lazy or unambitious. It might be more fitting to describe him as selective in where he shows an effort. The donor has some normal degree of discipline, but there might be cases where he will not reach a personal goal or “slack off” to relax and enjoy life, rather than being strict with himself. The donor has a general sense of duty, but he doesn’t seem to be completely ruled by responsibilities and deadlines. He can be deliberate and analytical but also decide based on gut feeling if the situation calls for it. Overall, the donor finds it nice to achieve things that are tough and pushing through during hard challenges. He has a priority in life to earn money to make a difference and using wealth for a greater cause.
